Instructions:

  1. Boil Water: Start by boiling water. Allow it to cool for about 30 seconds after boiling to achieve the optimal temperature, around 200-205°F (93-96°C).

  2. Prepare Equipment: Place the paper filter in the pour-over cone or dripper and set it over your mug.

  3. Rinse the Filter: Pour a small amount of hot water over the paper filter to rinse it. This helps remove any paper flavor and preheats the pour-over cone and mug. Discard the rinse water.

  4. Measure Coffee: Measure 2 tablespoons of coffee. Adjust the coffee-to-water ratio based on your taste preferences.

  5. Add Coffee to Filter: Place the measured coffee grounds into the rinsed filter in the pour-over cone.

  6. Bloom the Coffee: Start the brewing process by pouring just enough water (about 60 ml) over the coffee grounds to saturate them. Allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds. This helps release trapped gases and ensures an even extraction.

  7. Pouring Technique: Begin pouring water in a slow, circular motion, starting from the center and moving outward. Pour steadily but not too quickly to maintain control over the extraction.

  8. Maintain Consistency: Continue pouring water in stages, keeping the water level consistent but never completely draining the water from the cone. Aim to finish pouring within 2-3 minutes.

  9. Final Extraction: Allow the remaining water to drip through the coffee grounds, completing the brewing process. The entire pour-over process should take around 3-4 minutes.

  10. Serve and Enjoy: Once the dripping has stopped, remove the pour-over cone, and your freshly brewed cafetière coffee is ready to be enjoyed. Add any desired condiments and savor the rich flavors.

Feel free to adjust the coffee-to-water ratio, grind size, and brewing time based on your personal preferences. Enjoy your pour-over!
