- 1 cup (100g) chopped walnuts

- 2 cups (250g) confectioners' sugar (powdered sugar)
- 2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and line two 8-inch (20cm) round cake pans with parchment paper.

Prepare the Cake:
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the brewed coffee and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.

- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add the confectioners' sugar, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the brewed coffee and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.

- Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread a layer of coffee buttercream on top of one cake layer.
- Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the entire cake with the remaining buttercream.
